Craig Gilbert, Washington Bureau Chief for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Lubar Fellow for Public Policy Research, Marquette University Law School
Craig Gilbert of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is spending six months as a Lubar Fellow for Public Policy Research at Marquette Law School: His project, under the auspices of the Journal Sentinel, involves reportage in the coming months about the political climate during the Trump presidency and in the shifting electorate that produced it. Gilbert will be exploring the voting groups, battleground regions, and electoral trends within the state of Wisconsin that shaped the 2016 election here—and that will determine the outcome of the 2018 midterms, with high-profile political figures Governor Scott Walker, Senator Tammy Baldwin, and House Speaker Paul Ryan all facing hotly contested reelection fights. Gilbert will discuss his latest project and the state of the state’s politics when he joins us.
