His inauguration will be held September 19th, but Mike Lovell has been on the job at Marquette University since July 1st. The former Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Lovell is Marquette’s 24th president and the institution’s first lay president. He arrives at an important moment in Marquette’s history, with higher education undergoing fundamental change, and with key administration positions still to be filled.
