Upward Mobility: Assessing the Characteristics of Greater Milwaukee’s Growing Hispanic Workforce Hispanics have accounted for much of the population growth in the Milwaukee area in the last two decades. But while they are an increasingly important part of the regional workforce, a new study commissioned by the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee (HPGM) finds cause for concern. The study, prepared by the Wisconsin Policy Forum, shows that Hispanics are significantly underrepresented in high-wage occupations and that the educational achievement of young Hispanics isn’t sufficient to remedy that problem. In this special 90-minute event, we’ll talk about the implications of the study with HPGM president and CEO Griselda Aldrete, HPGM board chair Raquel Filmanowicz of BMO Harris Bank, and senior researcher Joe Peterangelo of the Wisconsin Policy Forum.
