Josh Kaul, Attorney General of Wisconsin Kaul, a Democrat and the son of a former attorney general, the late Peg Lautenschlager, is the state’s 45th attorney general. He defeated Republican incumbent Brad Schimel by roughly 17,000 votes in last November’s hard-fought election. Before running for attorney general, Kaul served as a federal prosecutor in Baltimore and as an attorney in Madison for the law firm of Perkins Coie. We’ll talk with Kaul about his first eight months on the job and his priorities as the state’s top law enforcement official when he joins us at Eckstein Hall’s Lubar Center.
